Multimc java se binary not working11/14/2023 I've ran it by auto detect and unchecking the ram allocated amount but then it will launch and start installing then crash. ![]() When I run the instance I get this error:Ĭ:/Program Files (x86)/Java/jre1.8.0_73/bin/java.exeĮrror occurred during initialization of VMĬould not reserve enough space for 3203072KB object heap "The specified java binary didn't work with the arguments you provided" When I test after putting in the correct path to my Java.exe it shows this error: ![]() I hope this experience is of some help to anyone else who experiences this problem.I am running into Java errors every time I try to launch an instance. I have selected the directory of OpenJDK 8 in the MultiMC settings and the Minecraft instance launched with no problems. Right now, I have OpenJDK 10/11 (10.0.2) installed and set as default along with OpenJDK 8 next to it, but NOT set as default. I am letting you know this because I do not know as to which action I have done to make MultiMC 5 work all of a sudden. Also between those actions, I have brought up the Software Sources panel, clicked the Maintenance tab to the left, and pressed the following buttons "Fix MergeList problems", "Purge residual configuration", "Remove duplicate entries", and "Remove foreign packages" (this one showed third party installations of packages, which contained nothing relating to OpenJDK/Java, so I Cancelled). The only actions I have done between installing and uninstalling the versions of OpenJDK (and the one-time removal of Oracle Java 8u201) was running the "sudo apt-get update" and "sudo apt update" commands to ensure that there were no dependency issues, duplicate entries, and conflicts. This time, it ACTUALLY launched successfully! After reinstallation of OpenJDK 8, I went into the MultiMC 5 settings, selected the directory where Open JDK 8 is, and attempted to launch the Minecraft instance. OpenJDK 10/11 was set as the default Java for everything else system wide, while OpenJDK 8 was install next to it, but not set as default. Unlike last time, it actually attempted to launch and went through the normal routines according to the log, until it failed with a Code 1.Īgainst better judgment, I decided to experiment and reinstall OpenJDK 8 WITHOUT uninstalling OpenJDK 10/11. I decided to select the OpenJDK 8 and launched MultiMC. After version 10 was installed, I went back into the Java settings of MultiMC, and noticed that it was still detecting OpenJDK 8, even after properly removing and purging it from my system. I was given the same result using version OpenJDK 7.Īfter my test with version 7, I decided to revert back to using OpenJDK 10/11 (tried installing 11, but the version was the same as before, which identifies as OpenJDK 10). Please go into settings to set the directory or uncheck the Java selection." MultiMC 5 then began to give a message as follows I did remove all versions of Java and installed just OpenJDK 8. I previously posted two updates to you on how I tried rolling back to version 8 of OpenJDK I deleted both updates in favor of this one. I have received the same error message as above. UPDATE: I have since installed Oracle's Java SE version 12 (and kept OpenJDK 10.0.2) and made the attempt again to run the Minecraft instance via MultiMC AFTER I went into the instance settings and directed the program to use the newly installed Java version 12. I do see a lot of entries mentioning Java, but I did verify the installation of OpenJDK, and had the MultiMC settings auto detect the java path, yet the error still persists. ![]() at java.base/.invoke0(Native Method)Īt java.base/.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:62)Īt java.base/.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:43)Īt java.base/.invoke(Method.java:564)Īt .launchWithMainClass(OneSixLauncher.java:196)Īt .launch(OneSixLauncher.java:231)Īt (EntryPoint.java:143)Īt (EntryPoint.java:34)Ĭaused by: : java.base/$AppClassLoader cannot be cast to java.base/ at .(Launch.java:34)Īt .main(Launch.java:28) Once everything was set and done, I made the attempt to launch the game, and got this error: Once that was done, I went into the Windows 10 MultiMC instance folder, and copied the instance and mods over to the Linux MultiMC folder, to which the MultiMC launcher detected. From there, I configured everything to be correct, and verified that Linux Mint 19.1 has OpenJDK 10.0.2. deb package, installed it, and launched MultiMC. For Linux Mint 19.1 Cinnamon, I downloaded the appropriate installer. On the Win10 side, MultiMC is fully setup and running with the mods given to me by the server admins. My rig is set up to dual boot Linux Mint 19.1 and Windows 10. ![]() I am a new comer into the world of Linux OSes, and made the choice to check out and stick with Linux Mint 19.1 Cinnamon.
